Subject: Moore County Butterflies-October 5

I spent 2.5 hours at Weymouth Woods this afternoon (2-4:30) and found 19 sp=
ecies, but no Meske=E2=80=99s Skippers. There is some Carphephorus bellidif=
olius blooming in places, but not a lot, so if flying at this point they ar=
e probably quite spread out. Today they certainly where I wasn=E2=80=99t. T=
he most interesting sighting was two Orange Sulphur nectaring on a Liatris =
in a recently burned portion of the savanna . It seemed strange to see thes=
e away from a non-cultivated area or roadside, but of course a species as c=
ommon as this can turn up most anywhere. The complete list follows:
