I noticed there were no butterfly counts reported for April 2nd. It was = a blustery day, (said Pooh). However, it was sunny and only 47 degrees, with a wind chill of 42, = according to the weather station at our house. For much of the afternoon, we had several Tiger swallowtails, flitting = and playing around. There was also a newly eclosed Pipeline, and a = female Black swallowtail. I believe this is the lowest temperature = I=E2=80=99ve ever seen with this much activity.
All Tiger swallowtails are notably small this season, but black = swallowtails normal size. Also released three female Black swallowtails = today.
Today were probably 7-10 Tiger swallowtails, a male and female newly = eclosed Black swallowtail and a Falcate orange tip.
