Hello All,It feels like fall today, misty and chilly, and only ten days ago=
it was almost 100 degrees in our garden.=C2=A0 It's kind of nice not to be=
so sweltering, but hopefully we still have some great warm late summer but=
terflying weather to come.
I am writing to request, as I regularly do this time of year, submissions o=
f any articles and/or 2021 photos of butterflies, and butterfliers! for the=
Fall issue of the club's journal.=C2=A0 In the spring issue, and here on m=
asslep, we also talked about the "Thirty for Thirty" challenge, to try to s=
pend thirty hours this summer doing something (or many things) for butterfl=
ies, in honor of the MA Butterfly Club's 30th anniversary.=C2=A0 I am hopin=
g to put together people's comments and reports about what they did this su=
mmer as part of that challenge.=C2=A0 But any and all submissions are alway=
s welcome.

I am thinking that many of you haven't been able to spend a full 30 hours a=
t this, and so maybe you feel like you have nothing to say.=C2=A0 But, plea=
se send in your butterflying notes anyway, no matter how short and sweet!=
=C2=A0 I am expecting to hear, "I was only able to get out for a few hours,=
but during that time I...", or "I intended to devote a full 30 hours, but =
instead I only..."=C2=A0 That stuff would be great!=C2=A0 Please send me wh=
atever notes you would like.=C2=A0 Photos, too, would be wonderful, includi=
ng photos of other people engaged in butterflying, as well as your butterfl=
y photos.=C2=A0 For the photos, please include the date and the location (t=
own in most cases, county for sensitive species); it's best to submit photo=
s as jpg attachments, if possible.
As always, I and the club really appreciate everyone's submissions.=C2=A0 T=
hanks in advance, and enjoy the rest of the summer,Best,Bill BennerEditor, =
