Hi Everyone.
I spent an enjoyable mid-day hiking (11-12:30 ) at Anderson Point Park in
east Raleigh, at the convergence of Crabtree Creek and the Neuse River. The
weather was perfect, mostly clear, calm, with temps in low 80s. And though
I wasn't spending all my time seeking butterflies, I did happen upon these:

Tiger Swallowtail - 1
Sleepy Orange- 5
Cloudless Sulphur- 12 with several females ovipositing on Partridge Pea
Eastern-tailed Blue- 3
Gulf Fritillary- 1
Pearl Crescent- 5
Common Buckeye- 4
Red-spotted Purple- 1
Hackberry Emperor- 1
Tawny Emperor- 1
Appalachian Brown- 1 very worn and ragged
Gemmed Satyr- 1 fresh
Monarch- only caterpillars, but lots of them, seems like a productive year
locally
Fiery Skipper- 5
Sachem- 1
Dun - 1
Clouded Skipper- 2
Ocola Skipper- 1
