Subject: A Few Butterflies, Possible Brazilian Skipper Chrysalis in Hillsborough

Fellow Butterfliers,
Today John took a look in our backyard butterfly habitat in Hillsborough to
see if there was any activity because of the recent warm temperatures. Here's
what he saw:

2 Sleepy Orange
1 Ocola skipper
1 Cloudless Sulphur
1 Painted Lady (the FOY for our yard)

He found what looks like a Brazilian Skipper chrysalis with the occupant
appearing to have successfully eclosed. Photo can be reviewed here:
https://flic.kr/p/2nYQC3m. If it's not a Brazilian Skipper chrysalis, any
thoughts on what it could be? We would be quite pleased if it were because
we've had canna in our habitat for a decade with the intention of it being
used as a host. Naturally this would mean (in theory) that our yard has had
two adult Brazilian Skippers flying about that we've entirely missed seeing:
one who laid the egg and the one who came out of the chrysalis.
