pictures sent to CBS only

5-18-2023

While mowing one of the lower grassy areas near the river, I stopped the
mower once to check on butterflies that I was seeing and took a few minutes
to identify a few butterflies.

1 Northern Pearly-eye FOY
1 Appalachian Brown
1 Little Wood Satyr
1 Carolina Satyr
1 Silver Spotted Skipper

5-22-2023

While working outside off and on today, I saw quite a few butterflies with
several first of the year species. I was expecting the Banded Hairstreak
this time of year, but the surprise of the day was finding the Tawny-edged
Skippers. They were interacting with each other in short native grasses,
so I was able to get a good look at both, but only got a couple of marginal
pictures.

1 Monarch
3 Eastern Tiger Swallowtails
1 Banded Hairstreak FOY
1 Orange Sulphur
1 Red Admiral
1 Common Buckeye
1 Eastern Tailed-Blue
4 Azures, Summer
4 Little Wood Satyrs
1 Red Spotted Purple
2 Silver Spotted Skippers
1 Least Skipper FOY
4 Zabulon Skippers
2 Tawny-edged Skippers FOY
