On Sunday, Bo Zaremba and I spent several hours at Weir Hill. Weather was
near perfect although there was a stiff wind at times. The wild indigo (*Baptisia
tinctoria*) is well advanced and ready for frosted elfins. Results:
Pear Crescent, 15
Eastern Tiger Swallowtail, 5
Spicebush Swallowtail, 1
Grey Hairstreak, 1
Frosted Elfin, 1 (female in pristine condition, likely the start of the
flight at Weir Hill given the frequency of someone checking this season)
Mourning Cloak, 1
Cabbage White, 5
Spring Azure, 2
Unidentified, several fast moving and uncooperative butterflies likely one
of the Vanessa's
