I spent the afternoon at Rhodes Pond, a formerly popular fishing spot
administered by WRC. The dam here broke during hurricane Matthew in 2016.
It has been mostly dry since then, save for a few of the deeper pools. The
new dam is complete and I think the gates on this dam are closed now, so it
should begin filling up soon. I walked about 4 miles exploring the former
lake bed, now grown with rushes and grasses. I saw 24 species, a really
good total for this spot. The highlights were 5 Byssus Skippers, 1 very
worn Dion Skipper, 1 Lace-winged Roadside-Skipper, and 1
Long-tailed Skipper. Pics of two of the Byssus can be seen here, Mike
Turner | Flickr <https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.flickr.com/photos/61962421@N05/?__;!!OToaGQ!qbGocqqUBRmmdeTx2AP4YhM17hORC07nJikdoPzuIwLwrWty9hCwxzh3RTuiLMmJydDFfH-cdFam2kIznse94_ft$ >. Popular
nectar sources were *Verbena brasiliensis*, Button-bush, and Elephantopus
carolinianus. My list is below. Good butterflying.

Spicebush Swallowtail 1
Palamedes Swallowtail 2
Eastern Tiger Swallowtail 1
Sleepy Orange 11
Cloudless Sulphur 4
