Quite an exciting day in the yard today so far. A hazy 80 degree day, I
thought for sure wouldn't bring out much but I was wrong about that! Now
that it's thundering and raining, I think it is safe to post a report.

At about 11:15 am or so, I looked out and saw a much yellower looking tiger
swallowtail flying around the zinnias. Looking through the binoculars, I
saw that it was a giant swallowtail! That is the first record from the
yard of a giant. By the time I got outside with the camera (about 0.002
seconds) The monarchs were chasing it away and off it went. I never even
got a chance at a photo.

Than at about 12:30 pm, I saw a cloudless sulphur dive bomb into the red
zinnias. I got out there even quicker for this one and eventually got it
on a yellow flower in the yard before it too took off. Photo link below.

A complete list of the yard from today is here:

1 Giant Swallowtail
1 Cloudless Sulphur
5 Monarchs
4 Pipevine Swallowtails
1 Peck's Skipper
3 Male Zabulon Skippers
2 Female Zabulon Skippers
1 Red Admiral
2 American Lady's
1 Painted Lady
1 Eastern Tiger Swallowtail
1 Red Spotted Purple
