Heather,

Nice bunch of species that -- even for South Carolina -- are quite rare.

My comments and thoughts:

1. * White Peacock* -- This might not be super rare now in south coastal
SC, but I would bold this one (don't go back just to do that!) as it is
mainly a scarce migrant.

2. The mystery duskywing. Wow! Clearly it is not Horace's. I see tens
and tens of these around central NC and tens of tens more when reviewing
iNaturalist photos. You suggest Zarucco, which makes sense. If this were
from the mountains, I probably would call this a female Wild Indigo
Duskywing. However, there are no records for this species from southern SC,
and along the coast seems nearly impossible. I think it best fits a female
Zarucco -- based on likelihood, and an array of photos I see on websites,
especially the Alabama Butterfly Atlas.

Zarucco Duskywing - Alabama Butterfly Atlas (usf.edu)
/details/60/zarucco-duskywing__;!!OToaGQ!qcq4xUoWjgJ1V7sNrBEoHwFOvgAtYsZ0ES=
J1EdnvB9rQ4k1GLfO-MyANjXIOMqNLxKeItMt1wg8y2JLZxTIriw$ >

It still is tricky, as there is gray scaling near the FW tip, and even a
small white dot inside the wrist -- not typical for Zarucco. But Zarucco
does have a lot of dark brown scaling outside the wrist, which this one
has. WIDW is very dark on the inner half of the FW and the outer half is
notably lighter colored. I am not sure if this is a male Zarucco. I can't
see a broad/fat abdomen of an obvious female, but male Zaruccos don't look
like this. At any rate, I would call this a Zarucco, but I truly cannot
rule out Wild Indigo for sure.

3. White Checkered-Skipper -- Wow! *Look how rusty/warm brown that is,
especially on the undersid*e! We see lots of Commons here in central NC,
and the underside dark color is blackish, or dark gray, or if brown is not
a rusty color at all. I do NOT know if this is a typical ground color
below or a "field mark", but the field guides don't mention that. I have
never seen anything like that one here in the middle of NC! This might be
something to keep track of in ventral photos. I do know that male Commons
often show strong blue hairs on the body and wing bases, above; White C-C
males seem to be silver or gray there. That might not be infallible,
however.

4. Intricate Satyr -- Don't fret about that ID. It is often very tricky,
as we often yield to Tom Austin to ID photos for us; he usually is the one
to confirm photos on iNaturalist.
