I grabbed my binoculars and started out= . Halfway there, I stopped in my tracks. Um, hello, I didn=E2=80=99t just h= ave butterflies. I also had big bear standing on its hind legs in the back = of the garden! From the safety of the = porch, Ben and I watched it amble across the yard; climb on top of our comp= ost pile, which it bent, and climb over the chain-length fence to the back = of the house where we have three birdbaths. We ran inside and raised the ki= tchen window where I got some pics. The bear spent some time eating wild cherries off the ground; scra= tched its fanny on a couple of trees; and then parkoured up a trunk and ont= o the top of our neighbor=E2=80=99s tall wooden fence and went on its way. = I=E2=80=99m sure glad the dogs were inside when all this happened. This bea= r makes me nervous.
