I usually have a nice variety in mid to late August but so far this year no luck. The early drought has certainly made a long-lasting impact this year. I am also looking for another Dion after seeing the first one in June. We received 1/2 of rain Friday before the walk on Saturday and then almost 2 inches Monday afternoon so the flood plains along the river are very lush again, hoping to see Dions from a second brood. The Painted Ladies are numerous presently with two in the mountain mint patch and two in the large zinnia patch this morning.
