Here on the Cape it's all Sachems, all the time at this point.

Long Pasture sanctuary, Barnstable 9/5, about an hour and 1.5 miles. Acres =
of goldenrod but skippers concentrated around scarce clumps of spotted knap=
weed:

Cabbage White 2
Clouded Sulphur 1
Red-banded Hairstreak 2
American Copper 2
Pearl Crescent 7
Peck's Skipper 11
Sachem 40 (by ones)
Zabulon Skipper 3

Hopkins Lane Community Gardens, Orleans, 9/9:

Cabbage White 5
Sachem 15

East Harwich house, 9/4:

Spicebush Swallowtail 2
Clouded Sulphur 2
Cabbage White 3
Gray Hairstreak 2
American Copper 5
Pearl Crescent 2
American Lady 2
Sachem 4
Tawny-edged Skipper 1

I finally realized I needed to delete and re-load my eButterfly app because=
, unbeknownst to me, it was changing all my Sachems to "Field Skippers" bec=
ause they hadn't updated the taxonomy in the app yet. Field Skipper got ke=
ep the old scientific name., so I was entering "Sachem (Atalopedes campestr=
is)" on my phone, and eButterfly was changing it to "Field Skipper (Atalope=
des campestris)" on the website. It was fun to have to change those dozens =
of now-incorrect sightings over several weeks to the correct species one by=
one. I'm rooting for eButterfly but, boy, that seems to be a shoestring op=
eration.

I've seen a few Cloudless Sulphurs in Chatham and Harwich in the last week =
but they are below usual numbers - I often see multiples per day this time =
of year.
