It might be 25 years since I last saw a Queen in my Newport yard, but sure = enough, there was a male sipping on milkweed blooms near my greenhouse at 4= this afternoon.=C2=A0 Was hoping it might be a windblown Soldier but a pho= to confirmed it was a Queen. Earlier, I had put two bait dishes out in hanging baskets under my Bradford= Pear.=C2=A0 In short order, a worn female Red Potted Purple showed up as w= ell as a Red Admiral. Palamedes Swallowtails, Cloudless Sulphurs, Gulf Frits, Long-tailed Skipper= s, Ocola Skippers, are plentiful with minimum half dozen each at any given = sunlit hour over the past few weeks. Third week of August I observed a Snout on Lantana in one of my customer's = yard in Morehead City.=C2=A0 Been a few years since I saw one of them local= ly. I have a lot of passion flower growing in my yard and I'm keeping my eye ou= t for any Zebra Long wings that may happen by.=C2=A0 Stay tuned. Bob=C2=A0
