Hey Butterfliers!

Sat 092124 from 0930-1630, NE 5-10, sunny 74-79F
Walked WNW on Whipping Creek Rd starting at the Maple Rd intersection near Dare Co Bombing Range (technically, 99% of my walk was really Hyde Co but historically it's been considered Dare Co) Alligator River NWR maps are wrong and they hope to update the western part of the area one day. Walked 2 miles in then 2 miles back for car and continued only an extra mile due to the shade taking over roadway. Berry's Skipper was my target but I dipped. Maybe one of my pics will hold the hidden gem for a nice surprise. Blue Mist Flower was the big draw for most of the flutterbys. A few big gaps between flower patches.

The following were seen:

Palamedes Swallowtail 21

Cloudless Sulphur 19
Sleepy Orange 11
Great Purple Hairstreak 1
Gray Hairstreak 8
Red-banded Hairstreak 10
Eastern Tailed-Blue 1

Pearl Crescent 5
American Lady 1
Red Admiral 1
Common Wood-Nymph 2
Common Buckeye 3
Viceroy 1
Monarch 2

Long-tailed Skipper 1
Silver-spotted Skipper 1
Clouded Skipper 38
Fiery Skipper 16
Tawny-edged Skipper 1
Southern Broken-Dash 15
Delaware Skipper 1
YEHL SKIPPER 73 (high count is 76 in Dare so I should have looked harder!)
Dion Skipper 9
Dun Skipper 6
Lace-winged Roadside-Skipper 7
Twin-spot Skipper 1
Ocola Skipper 13

It's Truly Amazing Out There!!
