Yesterday we made an effort to get the 100th butterfly species of the year
(sitting at 99 now) with yet another trip out to western MA. It was
certainly cooler than usual, but it was sunny so we gave it a try. We were
unsuccessful in finding that elusive #100, but it will never be found from
the couch. List of needed species is below.

October Mountain - Sunny but high 50's to lower 60's light breezes:
1 Common Ringlet
2 American Coppers
2 Pearl Crescents
1 Sulphur (sp)

Mount Greylock (Jones Nose) - Partly Sunny to Cloudy mid 60's little wind:
1 Monarch
1 Eastern-tailed Blue

We also searched a pick your own flowers business called Second Drop Farm
at the base of Mount Greylock prior to going up to Jones Nose. Lots of
Zinnias to search there and a really nice employee/owner.

2 Cabbage Whites
2 Clouded Sulphurs
1 American Copper

*Still looking for any one of the following (any tips/recent sightings
would be appreciated):*

*Compton TortoiseshellAphrodite FritillaryGray CommaMilbert's
TortoiseshellLittle Yellow*
*Checkered Skipper*
